The Palace FA Cup replay brought heartbreak as a 118th minute winner put us out of the cup. But it was a great effort in a tense game and we could have won it, only brilliant saves by Martyn denying Mooney and Foster in extra time. Dowie was rank. We looked knackered at Reading and conceded three late goals after Gibbs was sent off - he later won an appeal, the referee admitting that Nogan had dived. Defeat at Middlesborough made the playoffs seem more distant but we scraped a result against Swindon thanks to a tremendous Miller save, the crossbar and a controversial Phillips goal. Super Kev struck again at Wolves, scoring in the last minute to gain an unlikely and undeserved point. We took a two goal lead against Barnsley, who came to attack in a crucial game, lost it in the second half and then won the game with a late Phillips strike. It was a cracking game. The same was true of a passionate televised derby at Luton, where we went behind early and absorbed a lot of pressure in the first half. Phillips got us level with a lovely finish but Porter missed another penalty - we still can't beat them.
