Saint of the day: Saint Peter Martyr was unjustly ejected from his monastery when female voices were overheard in his cell. Peter had in fact been chatting to three women saints visiting from heaven. He was later vindicated, but Peter was so angry at the time that he complained bitterly to a crucifix, until the figure of Christ on the cross told him off for moaning.
